Diamond Heights

Diamond Heights is located in the center of San Francisco, bordered generally by Noe Valley and Glen Canyon Park. The San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association's first project was Diamond Heights, with the intent to develop with, rather than against, the topography. Diamond Heights is home to the George Christopher Playground, and Walter Haas Playground is nearby. Here you will find sunshine and scenic views of both the bay and the ocean. Developer Joseph Eichler's first launch into urban development was in Diamond Heights in the early 60s. Eichler created seven distinct home designs with features such as in-floor radiant heat, floor-to-ceiling windows, tongue and groove ceilings and courtyards wherever the topography allowed. Many of these homes are still occupied by their original owners, and pride of ownership is readily apparent. Shopping and restaurants are located at the Diamond Heights Shopping Center and in nearby Noe Valley.
